Lt. Aleda E. Lutz was a nurse in Saginaw, Michigan before the war. She is the only woman buried here. A medical center in Saginaw is named after her.126 views Lutz participated in six separate battle campaigns over a 20-month period, accompanied air combat missions, and conducted all-weather medical evacuations in Tunisia, Italy and France. She helped evacuate over 3,500 wounded soldiers successfully. She was killed in a C47 crash on November 1, 1944.

We then continued to a river rafting trip on the Hvita glacial river. Thanks to Gudmundur Bjornsson, our trip leader, for the wonderful rafting pictures!126 viewsIt was exhilarating! We didn't start until 10:30am (btw, we had breakfast at 7:00am), and lasted until almost 2pm. We were cold, wet, and hungry, but we have not had such fun!
