This was taken at our farewell dinner. After dinner, we drove back to our hotel in Seefeld.59 viewsWe checked out of our hotel here in Seefeld the next day (April 18) and left for Munich. We love this hotel. On our way to Munich we visited the Neuschwanstein Castle of which the Disney Castle was modeled. We stayed in Munich for the night and flew home on Sunday (April 19).

Neuschwanstein Castle.2 viewsNeuschwanstein Castle is a nineteenth-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as an homage to Richard Wagner. Ludwig paid for the palace out of his personal fortune and by means of extensive borrowing, rather than Bavarian public funds. The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death in 1886.
